I am an illustrator/painter who was brought up in the South Hams and have loved drawing and making things from an early age.
I studied graphic design in Bath and post graduate studies at PCA, Plymouth.
I have been working as an illustrator in South Devon since 2011.
I often have diverse projects on the go and really enjoy the challenge of creating a wide range of artwork. I work both digitally and traditionally. My art college days were pre-computer so I have relished the challenge of teaching myself to use art and design software.
I also pursue a more personal journey through painting. I find it hugely challenging and really enjoyable……..in equal measure! I work in a small studio in my garden which is a tranquil space with great views.
Nature is a huge driver for me in my personal life and my work.
Artists I love; the list is endless but here are a few………. David Hockney, Eric Ravilious, Georgia O’keefe, Edward Bawden, Edward Ardizzone, Mary Fedden, Clive Hicks-Jenkins, Annie O’Brien Gonzales, Brian Wildsmith, Nicholas Hely-Hutchinson etc. etc.
Something I am striving for in my painting is a sense of atmosphere, a touch of magic if I can……..something beyond what I can see.
I have a long way to go and I will always be learning and I hope, progressing.
